Community Projects

Music as a Tool for Healing, Connection & Social Good

Music is more than performance—it is a vital bridge for empathy, vulnerability, and human connection. Whether co-writing lullabies with parents in crisis, elevating women’s artistic voices, or gathering for immersive retreats, my community work is rooted in a single truth: every story matters, and song is a powerful way to heal.

The Lullaby Project

The Lullaby Project

Co-writing songs of connection

For almost ten years I’ve had the honor of working as a songwriter for the Oregon Symphony’s Lullaby Project. This initiative pairs professional songwriters with parents experiencing houselessness and incarceration to co-create custom, personalized lullabies for their children.

By turning personal stories, hopes, and love into enduring songs, the Lullaby Project creates quiet, sacred moments of emotional bonding and healing when families need them most. It is one of the most profound examples of how songwriting serves as a tool for dignity, emotional regulation, and deep human connection.

Songwriting Retreats

Songwriting Retreats

Immersive spaces for creative growth, community and joy.

My annual songwriting retreats offer a supportive, non-judgmental sanctuary to slow down, explore your creativity, and connect with fellow music-makers.

Combining creative prompts, vocal health practices, and collaborative feedback, these retreats are designed for songwriters of all experience levels. Whether you are writing your very first song or finishing a collection, you will find a safe space to be vulnerable, hone your craft, and experience the pure joy of making music together.
