Bre's Story

When Bre Gregg opens her mouth, you hear a rich musical history of back alley clubs filled with deeply authentic soul, visceral blues and smoky jazz. Her voice is technically superb after years of study and performance and her ability to connect with the music and her audiences make her performances profoundly intimate. One thing is for sure…her blend of tenderness and fire will leave you wanting more.

Born into a family of musicians, Bre was singing before she could talk. After a degree in music, followed by study and performance in Italy, New York and California, she moved to Portland and spent the next few years entering the music scene and releasing her first CD, On the Wind. Next up was Something to Talk About, was recorded at a live tribute to Bonnie Raitt featuring top NW talent. Her latest album called All My Love features original music written by Bre and Dan Gildea, played by Red Bird, their band that delivers a tasty combination of soul and roots.

"She’s got this great voice, forceful one minute, tender the next, controlled yet simmering with feeling..."

- Holly Johnson, Oregon Music News

“Bre Gregg is a powerful lead vocalist with a gift for phrasing and a deep feeling she is communicating right from the soul.”

 - Robert Richter, Host of Local Roots, KMUZ

“I loved hearing Red Bird play...the band is killer and Bre's vocals are insane! ”

 -  Ashley Kervabon, #WomenCrushMusic

“She is bluesy, plaintive, sassy, and fun, Bre Gregg and the talented gents that from Red Bird is a band that will leave you wanting more at night's end.”

 - Teri Briggs, Portland Radio Project

"Portland’s Bre Gregg has called Montana and New York home, but her heart wanders everywhere, encompassing the worlds of jazz and blues...she truly uses her voice like an instrument, something a lot of singers claim to do but few do with complete control. Listening to her is like hearing a classy horn player who realizes it’s not what you’re saying but how you say it that makes people really want to put down their salad forks and listen."

- Rob Cullivan, Portland Tribune

“This spectacular combination combines Blues Music Award recipient Lisa Mann’s bass and vocal prowess ranging from rock to Memphis soul with Bre Gregg’s swampy soul and blues voice influenced by the likes of Nina Simone, Patsy Cline and Bonnie Raitt…”

 - Cascade Blues Association

"Here's our story on Bre, a sweet Irish lass who sounds like a Nina Simone/Bonnie Raitt combo with a dash of Patsy Cline! Amazing voice."

 - Stephanie Kralevich, More Good Day Oregon, Fox 12

“Bre Gregg brings a new life and sound to blues and jazz, and is a much needed breath of fresh air. Her cut to the bone, soul filled lyrics bring on a sense of sadness and tempered happiness all at once, and leaves the fluff at the door. Her voice is reminiscent of the classics, but has an edge and character all her own."
